A Minister and 2 ADUNs Joined in to Celebrate Toong Wah Cave Temple 139th Anniversary

The Toong Wah Cave Temple at Jalan Tambun celebrated its 139th Anniversary on 17 December 2011 with the 2nd Minister of Finance YB Dato Seri Ahamd Husni Hanadzlah and 2 ADUNs, YB Dato Nadzri Ismail and Dato Rusnah Kassim joining in together with more than 600 people.

With divine intervention the rain which started to pour in the evening stopped an hour before the dinner started. The atmosphere was good and it was quite cooling. The dinner was held at the foot of the hill where the temple is located.

At 8pm both the ADUNs YB Dato Nadzri and Dato Rusnah Kassim arrived greeting all the participants from table to table. As usual the dinner was preceded with the Lagu NegaraKu to signify the official opening of the celebration.

Donors were then invited to the stage to light their candles.

Dato' Rusnah was the first speaker that night. It was then followed by speech of Dato' Nadzri representing the 2nd Finance Minister who was at the same time at another function in Ipoh.

Corporate donors and both the YBs and other VIPs were invited to hit the drum in honour of the donors to the temple. Later, Dato' Nadzri together with Dato' Rusnah were on stage again to present a mock cheque of RM20,000 to the Chairman of Toong Wah Cave Temple on behalf of Dato' Husni who is also the MP for Tambun.

Not to disappoint the participants, YB Dato Seri Ahmad Husni arrived unexpectedly to the loud cheers of the crowd. He shook hands with almost all those who are present from young to old.
